Obituary - Sedalia (Missouri) Democrat, 3 January 1978
Joseph C. Dillard
Joseph Cox Dillard, 70, 2205 South Harrison, died Sunday afternoon at Bothwell Hospital.
He was born in Sedalia, Dec. 23, 1907, son of the late William R. and Grace Overstreet Dillard. On Oct. 7, 1939, he married Lois M. Potter, who survives of the home.
Mr. Dillard graduated from Sedalia High School in 1925 and attended the Central Business College. He worked for the City Light & Traction co. from 1926 to 1935. He then moved to Three Rivers, Mich., where he worked for the Michigan Power Co. as supervisor of the accounting department until 1970, when he returned to Sedalia. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mr. Linda Diane Johnson, Columbia; a brother, William R. Dillard, St. Louis; a sister, Grace Sievert, Wickenburg, Ariz.; and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Heckart-Gillespie Colonial Chapel with the Rev. H. J. Hudson Jr. officiating. Pallbearers will be A. B. Case, John P. Edwards, Rainer Kocsis, Lawrence Mundy, Julius Stohr, and Seigel Woodard.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
